When optimising your charging, ev.energy's Smart Charging algorithm will always put YOU first. If there is extra flexibility within your charging schedule, then ev.energy will automatically select the best times for the grid and the environment to help you charge cheaper and greener.
We use five criteria for optimisation. They are, in order of priority:
1. Getting your EV charged by your "ready by time"
2. Using solar electricity from your solar panels, if it's the cheaper option
3. Charging from the electricity grid at the times it's cheapest for you, based on your tariff
4. Charging when demand is low and the grid is less congested
5. Charging when low carbon energy is readily available

You're still in full control of your "ready by" time and can "Boost" charge (i.e. charge your car immediately by tapping on the boost button) whenever you need to - but remember, Boosting may utilise high-carbon energy at peak prices.
