What is the Smart Schedule feature?

Modified on Wed, 18 Sep at 3:03 PM

Whether it’s work, the school run, or running errands, how you use your car in the week may be different from the weekends and you probably want your charging to seamlessly fit around that.

Smart Schedule allows you to set a customised charging schedule for each day of the week to suit your lifestyle. Simply adjust your weekly charge schedule in the ev.energy app to get started and we’ll take care of the rest, so your EV will always be charged up for when you need it.

With Smart Charging turned ON, tap on the Smart Schedule card and edit the times for each day to fit your weekly routine. Where you don’t set a ready by time, it will be set to 7 am by default.

As you may have guessed from the name, Smart Schedule will still use our smart charging magic to charge your vehicle at the best price and with the least environmental impact. For instance, we’ll prioritise charging during your energy tariff’s off-peak period or when your home solar is generating zero-cost, carbon-free electricity.

If you don’t have an off-peak period or solar, you can still benefit from our smart charging rewards for each 7kWh charge, which you can spend on Amazon Vouchers and carbon offset credits.

Need to override schedule?

We get it, plans change. With the Override Schedule feature, you can also set one-off ready by times for those occasional times where you need a little extra juice without interfering with your preferred charging schedule.

In addition to that, you can also choose to precondition your battery to the optimum temperature for a set time whilst it’s still plugged into the mains, which preserves battery for when you’re on the road and ensures you’ll get more mileage out of every charge – particularly during the winter months.
