What is the Demand Flexibility Service and how long does it last?

Modified on Thu, 10 Nov, 2022 at 9:44 AM

The Demand Flexibility Service is a scheme run by National Grid ESO, who are the largest electricity transmission and distribution business in the UK. This new programme has been set up to reduce energy demand when the grid is under strain and will help to stop blackouts taking place in Britain this winter.

You can get involved in the programme and sign up for the Demand Flexibility Service directly through ev.energy. As part of this programme, ev.energy will automatically schedule your charging to avoid periods of high demand on the grid through its Smart Charging feature.

The programme will run November 2022 to March 2023 inclusive.
