ev.energy are aware that a number of people have experienced issues with Smart Charging their MG ZS. In December 2019, MG released a software update, designed to prevent the car from falling 'asleep' which was preventing fully delayed Smart Charging from working reliably. Unfortunately this update did not provide a resolution so we are currently working collaboratively with Rolec and MG on further updates so that MG owners are able to fully benefit from Smart Charging.

To enable MG owners to charge off-peak with their current setup, ev.energy has developed a trickle charging mode for effected users. This enable's Smart Charing at full power (32 Amps) durning off-peak times, reducing the charge rate down to 6 Amps the rest of the time rather than turning fully off to prevent the car falling asleep.

It's also important to note that MG owners with a Rolec HomeSmart charger are still able to track charging using the ev.energy app and charge their cars in 'standard' mode.
