Your MPAN (Meter Point Administration Number) or Supply Number (S-Number) is a unique 13-digit reference code that is used to uniquely identify every electricity supply point in the UK. The number allows grid service providers and electricity companies to identify your meter easily and quickly.


You can find your MPAN a number of ways: 

  1. By looking at your electricity bill.
  2. By contacting and ask your current electricity supplier.
  3. By contacting your local electricity distributor.


How to find your MPAN on your Bill


Usually your MPAN, also known as your “supply number”, can be found on your energy bill. Here's an example of what your MPAN number should look like:



We only need the last 13 digits to identify your meter, so if we ask you to provide your MPAN, you only need to enter the bottom line.


Don't have an energy bill? 


If you don't have a bill, don’t worry, you can find your MPAN elsewhere. First, you can always call your supplier and ask them to give you your MPAN over the phone. 


Not sure who your supplier is?


If you want to find out who supplies your electricity then simply visit the website of the Energy Networks Association and enter your postcode. You’ll then be given details of your supplier, including a phone number to call and ask what your MPAN number is.


If you can’t do that, you can also contact your local electricity distributor - the details of which can be found on the same Energy Networks Association website. The UK is split into 14 different regions and each region has a local distribution company. They keep a record of the MPANs for each household.
